J. Mack Lancaster, M.D.
Dr. Mack Lancaster specializes in the treatment of injuries and disorders of the hip and knee. He performs a large volume of hip and knee replacement surgery and arthroscopic surgery of the knee and is involved in research in the field of joint replacement. He was certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery in 1986 and recertified in 1994 and 2004.
Dr. Lancaster performed the first minimally invasive hip replacement done at Baylor University Medical Center and frequently performs minimally invasive joint replacement techniques for both hip and knee.
Dr. Lancaster received a bachelor's degree in zoology from the University of Tulsa, where he was an All-Conference defensive tackle and a member of the Academic All-America football team. Though drafted by the Detroit Lions of the National Football League, he chose instead to attend the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at North Carolina Baptist Hospital/Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem. He has been a physician member of Orthopedic Associates of Dallas since 1984.
He is a member of numerous medical organizations, including the Dallas County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, American Medical Association, Texas Orthopedic Association, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and American Association of Arthritic Hip and Knee Surgeons.
