John Heinrich, M.D.
Dr. John Heinrich is one of the newest physicians to join Orthopedic Associates of Dallas. He practices general Orthopedics with an emphasis on sports medicine and arthroscopic procedures. His particular interests include arthroscopic treatment of injuries of the shoulder and knee.
Dr. Heinrich is a native of Evansville, Indiana. He graduated magna cum laude from Southern Methodist University 1999, with a B.A. of Arts. While at SMU, he was a member of the Division I soccer team that was ranked #3 nationally and reached the Elite 8 of the NCAA tournament. He attended medical school at the Indiana University School of Medicine where he was awarded the Raymond Nicholson Scholarship for academic excellence. His postgraduate training includes a Surgical Internship and an Orthopaedic Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Heinrich completed his Sports Medicine Fellowship training at Methodist Sports Medicine/Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana. During his fellowship, he was team physician for Indiana State University and a member of the Indianapolis Colts medical staff. In addition, he also served as a consultant for the NFL combine for the 2009 NFL draft. His research interests include cartilage injuries of the knee and imaging modalities for evaluating ligamentous injuries of the wrist.
Dr. Heinrich has many hobbies and interest including golf, hunting, running, soccer and spending time with his family. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopic Association of North America. He is a member of Watermark Community Church. Dr. Heinrich practices at OAD facilities located at Baylor Medical Pavilion, Medical City Dallas and Baylor Medical Center at Frisco.
