Dr. Nathan Gilbert grew up in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas in 1997 with a
Bachelor of Science degree. He attended The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas where he was accepted into
Alpha Omega Alpha as a fourth-year student. His internship in general surgery and residency in orthopedic surgery were completed
at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School & Parkland Memorial Hospital. As a chief resident, Dr. Gilbert spent three
months as a senior registrar in the department of Trauma and Orthopedics at The Norwich and Norfolk University Hospital in Norwich,
England.
After his residency, Dr. Gilbert completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal surgical oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson
Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. His fellowship focused on the treatment of bone and soft tissue sarcomas in adults and children,
diagnosis and treatment of metastatic bone disease, complex extremity and pelvic reconstructive techniques, treatment of avascular
necrosis, and treatment of benign skeletal and soft tissue tumors.
Dr. Gilbert will practice at the Orthopedic Associates of Dallas facilities at Baylor University Medical Center and Medical City
Hospital. In addition, he will staff the Sammons Bone Tumor Center at Baylor with fellow Orthopedic Associates of Dallas
surgeon, Dr. Al Mollabashy.
