Dr. Medlock, born in Dallas, attended the University of Texas at Austin from which he received a B.A. in Biology. His undergraduate honors includes membership in Phi Beta Kappa. His M.D. was obtained from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and his residency was completed at the University of Texas Southwestern Affiliated Hospitals, followed by a year as a Fellow with San Diego Arthoscopy and Sports Medicine Group.
Dr. Medlock is board certified and his general orthopedic practice includes a specialization in sports medicine with an emphasis on disorders of the shoulder and knee.
As a result of his participation in highschool football, Dr. Medlock developed an interest in sports medicine. This interest became more intense during his third year in medical school with his introduction to orthopedic surgery. He was pleased to have been accepted into a resident and a fellowship program that permitted specialized training in orthopedic surgery. During his residency, Dr. Medlock met, was trained by and became impressed by orthopedic surgeons at Baylor Hospital (Dallas). Following completion of his fellowship, he joined Orthopedic Associates of Dallas at Baylor and divides his time between Baylor's Tom Landry facility and Medical City Dallas.
Dr. Medlock spends his free time with his wife, daughter, parents and in-laws, all of whom live in the Dallas area. He is an avid pilot and holds a multi-engine instrument rating. He enjoys using his family's aircraft to travel on bird hunting trips with his father and friends.
